Hangzhou is probably the prettiest city in China. Elena told me that I would love it, and she was right. Up until seeing Hangzhou, I had a really bad impression of China after having lived here for three years. I had no idea China had a such a pretty place--it's a world of difference from all the other places I've been to in China. Hangzhou is known for turning out famous artists, and China's best art school is located right next to the West Lake.

A typical street in Hangzhou. Nice, eh?
They call this grass "Dog's tail grass."
Vibrant colors after the rain.
Elena caught a pink and yellow flower kissing and called me over to take a picture.
I like shops with well-designed lighting.
We ate in this restaurant. I took a bunch of shots of Elena while in this restaurant. One thing I hate about China is that all the shops don't let you take pictures inside--they are afraid you'll immitate their interior/lighting design. This place was no different--the second I point the camera away from Elena, a waiter ran up to me and told me no pictures of the shop.
Outside the restaurant.
I always get bored waiting for the food to arrive.
I love these little lawn lights.
Sometimes, artificial lights from neon signs can provide some surreal and beautiful lighting.
Hotel deco.
Cute store sign.
One of the entrances to West lake. The light poles change color. I picked blue to take a picture of.
These shoot out from under the stone benches along the entrance to West Lake.
I liked the yellow too, so I took another shot.
Across the lake.
I have a love and hate relationship with ISO 3200.
What can I say, I can't resiste symmetrical things in a row.
Awesome mushroom lights.
Another lawn light.
Elena in the circle.
Street lights.
